About Us

Jessica began her career in mechanical design and quickly got involved in various types of energy engineering, such as energy procurement, energy audits, renewable conceptual layouts, and sustainability benchmarking.  This experience diversified into building commissioning and energy modeling—this involvement resulted in Jessica becoming a Certified Building Commissioning Professional, HERS Rater, and NGBS Verifier.  In addition, Jessica has vast exposure in project management, construction administration, and extensive experience with utility energy incentive programs.  All these connections and contacts pushed Jessica to open her firm, Harris Energy Solutions, in 2017.

Fun Facts:

• Jessica is blessed with two children, an older daughter and a younger son.
• Jessica loves hiking with her children on Sundays (weather permitting.)
• Jessica recently published her first children’s book “Bernie’s Escape from Ong” about the dangers of plastic pollution in the ocean.
• Jessica loves to travel and has been all over the world exploring different cultures and food!

in 2009 and immediately started work in the energy consulting field.  With extensive hands-on knowledge in Energy Auditing, Commissioning, and Retro-commissioning, he took a strategic career path change from consulting to being an owner’s representative for New York City.  At DCAS Energy Management, his role was to mass implement Energy Efficiency Projects for all building typologies and demonstrate the validity of energy savings after implementation.   His unique experience allows him to bring perspective in both engineering theory and the practical challenges in designing and executing implementation programs at a large scale.

Fun Facts:

• Outside of work, Deng likes to play with his two sons.
• Deng has developed a fond appreciation of taking a walk after dinner with his eldest son.
• Deng finds walks to be very therapeutic and calming, especially after a hectic day.
• Deng also enjoys singing Karaoke. His wife gave him the nickname “The Karaoke Machine.”

He graduated from Northeastern University, with a Master of Science in Energy systems. He graduated from Indraprastha University with a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Fun Facts:

• Robin loves real football (soccer), he loves playing and watching games. He is a huge Chelsea fan (football club in London)
• He loves to cook, mostly Indian food. Robin is a big foodie so he loves cooking new things and exploring new Cuisines.
• Robin loves to travel. He is hoping to travel through the states in the next couple of years and hopes this job will help him do that!
• He loves building Legos! His wife calls them toys but that doesn’t faze him. Robin finds it therapeutic.

He has extensive experience across the energy engineering spectrum, particularly energy auditing and energy modeling. Patrick is a PE in 6 states (as of now), and his auditing and modeling covers buildings of all sizes and types (commercial high-rise, multi-family residential, educational, industrial, performing arts, etc).

Fun Facts:

• Patrick is a huge sports fan (Yankees, Giants, obsessive WVU fan), loves concerts (favorite bands are Metallica, Ozzy), genealogy, playing with my niece and nephew, traveling to new places/exploring historical sites, video games, TV and movies (especially The Sopranos).
• He has two basset hounds
• Patrick’s dream vacation is to Ireland (although anywhere outside the US would be an adventure)

performing energy audits and energy studies as well as creating full building energy models and energy savings calculations. John also has experience in assisting design of energy upgrades as well as assisting retro commissioning and commissioning efforts. He is proficient with creating drawings in AutoCAD.

Fun Facts:

• John has been playing the piano since he was around six years old, and he has a baby grand piano at home that he enjoys playing
• He has been a partial season ticket holder with the Yankees since 2019 and tries to go to as many Saturday home games as he can each year
• The first Yankees game John ever went to was David Wells’ perfect game in 1998.

Daniel is excited to be applying his engineering skills at HES to support the growing need for sustainable development and monitoring across the country. Daniel was the technical lead on the research team for ESP32 hardware usage as an Internet of Things sensor for measuring energy consumption in facilities to enhance data availability.

Daniel also established M&V instructional documentation, standards, and coaching materials for NYC DCAS Energy managers. He co-authored an annual segmentation analysis report on NYC’s municipal facilities portfolio to determine energy consumption using SQL queries. In addition, he conducted a statistical analysis using Excel on various municipal buildings to determine weather-dependent energy consumption. Daniel has experience working on ASHRAE Level I energy audits, including site visit collection data, energy calculations, and report development. He also created M&V plans following IPMVP standards for NYC municipal energy projects.

Fun Facts:

• Daniel is an avid enjoyer of 3D printing and electronic design.
• He also enjoys plant care and designing custom mechanical keyboards
• Daniel has recently taken up a new hobby, street photography!

He is passionate about learning and has a constant thirst for knowledge. From initially integrating a barcode system at a medical clinic to collecting and compiling data for energy audits, Johan’s strong analytical skills prove to be one of his greatest assets. He is currently studying to get his EIT certificate and will eventually become a certified PE.

Fun Facts:

• Johan’s favorite dish is a Mexican Torta, aka a sandwich that comes in many different styles and fillings.
• Outside of work, Johan is very into movies citing “WALL-E” to be his favorite film.
• Johan loves to watch soccer and is an active supporter of Arsenal FC.
• One of Johan’s dreams is to visit every state and major city at least once.

He has even worked on various types of aircrafts and believes they’re much easier to fix than cars! He is also very interested in electric vehicles and their future impact on society.

Fun Facts:

• When Jason isn’t at work, you can find him doing something with or for his family. He receives great joy from helping others and is a family man
• Jason is a huge fan of horror and visiting spooky places. He says, “the spookier, the better!”

He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Master of Science in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

• Carl loves and plays basketball
• His favorite fruit is the mango
• Carl’s favorite sports team is the Knicks

• Brian likes working on cars and does all the maintenance for his own car

She has a proven track record of delivering impactful projects in her experience. Additionally, Nancy has led a data optimization project to calculate flood risk using river gauges and insurance studies and presented recommendations to maximize energy efficiency in building design and operation.

Fun Facts:

• Nancy can speak four languages – English, Mandarin, Fujianese, and Spanish
• In her free time, Nancy enjoys binge-watching K/C dramas (her current favorite is Twinkling Watermelon) and cooking shows
• When Nancy’s sleep patterns are irregular, she starts lucid dreaming

engineering principles and mechanical HVAC design which opened the door for him to the energy consulting industry. Kristofer also has experience with 3-D mechanical part design and manufacturing. His hands-on experience includes work with manufacturing equipment, mechanical HVAC equipment, and detailed site surveys.

• Kristofer loves going to Croatia during the summer and exploring different islands.
• He is a big sports fan and loves to watch soccer, football, basketball, and tennis.
• Kristofer is a big fan of Chelsea FC, the NY Jets, and the NY Knicks.
• He loves rock and metal music, especially from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s.

He has worked on a multitude of Engineering Design projects using his skillset in Fusion 360 and manufacturing cost estimation. Rinor has also assisted with improving machine learning models.

Fun Facts:

• Rinor enjoys 3D printing and has two printers
• He works on his own car
• Rinor likes to go mountain biking with his brother
• He enjoys bass fishing at lakes and ponds.
• Rinor likes to fly RC planes and drones as well as drive fast RC cars.

He graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Daniel’s interest in climate change mitigation drives his learning and continued professional development in the renewable energy industry.

• Daniel loves to scuba dive.
• He enjoys hiking, camping, and backpacking.
• Daniel has been a martial artist the majority of his life.
• He enjoys weather phenomena and has a BS in Meteorology.
• Daniel likes to draw.

Robin is creating a roadmap for sustainable growth and profitability. Her strategic planning and goal setting help guide HES’s direction and decision-making.  She keeps our operations running smoothly and our financial health intact.

Fun Facts:

• Robin loves reading, swimming and attending concerts
• She has a background in Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance forms, both are classical dance forms from India
• Robin is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Social Work Specialist

In her role at HES, she ensures that all operations run smoothly and adhere to quality standards. Amy is creating long-term plans and initiatives to help the company achieve its goals efficiently. She enjoys problem-solving, quickly identifying issues, and determining effective solutions. Amy has a passion for the environment and enjoys being part of a company that is working to create a better world for future generations.

Fun Facts:

• Before joining HES, Amy worked for 20+ years in the producing and administrative side of television.
• Amy can type 85+ words per minute.
• In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking, kayaking, and biking.
• She enjoys music from the ‘60s and ‘70s and prefers listening to it on vinyl

Her diverse experience includes building modeling, solar design, data collection, and analysis. In addition, her interest in education and environmental sciences drives great strengths in research and development, critical problem solving, and analytical thinking.

Fun Facts:

• Abby enjoys hiking and spending as much time outside as possible.
• Abby also enjoys relaxing and listening to music, her favorite artist right now is Harry Styles.
• Abby’s dream vacation would be a year-long all-expenses-paid trip to Europe! [Harris Energy better start getting international contracts!]
